Without cultural pride but thinking only of worldly gain I would speak. EXCELLENT QUESTION BY THE WAY.
English
(most widely spoken economic language)
Latin
(basis of all romantic languages so therefore I could easily learn or rutamentally understand French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese)
(it is also the language of Western Law and Medical terminology)
German
(largest EU economic power I believe)
Cantonese or Mandarin
(considering 1 out of 5 people in the world are Chinese... it seems like a good idea.)
Sign Language ASL or Scots' Gaelic
(Limitedly small language that you could easily teach to someone which could give you an ability to have a private conversation while surrounded by many people)
Any type of the many languages of India didn't make it because most of India speaks English. English is the primary language of India. India is the second most populous country in the world.
PS. For all American-English speaking peoples, if you do need to have a conversation overseas in the middle of a group of people and do not want them to understand you. Speak Pig Latin. It is one of the most difficult languages to follow that is not a language, but a modification of a language.

I already speak 3: English, Spanish, and Italian, and I know the benefits of being multilingual. I would most definitely add Chinese and Japanese. These, with the exception of Italian, are the most spoken languages in America. I'd also like to learn French just for fun because I think it's sexy. =]
