I don't know much about Welbutrin but I do know You don't need that stuff to quit. You just have to have more confidence in your own inner strength. You must convince yourself that your stronger than the cigarette. When I quit I brainwashed myself. I said OUT LOUD (every hour on the hour) "I am Stronger than the cigarettes." I taped signs to my bathroom mirror saying things like "You've Smoked your last cigarette" if You say it aloud repeatedly and read it often enough your mind will begin to believe it. I'm not anti drugs. If the drug will help you quit then by all means use it. I've had friends who have tried to use different drugs (mostly Zyban) and it didn't work for them. I think the biggest reason it didn't work is because they believed that the drug would be a cure all. They thought that it would be easy because they were taking a "magical" pill. In my humble opinion you don't need Welbutrin. You are strong enough to quit without drugs.

I was on welbutrin Sr 150 milligram's 3 times a day. While i was on it i cut down from 2 packs a day to under 1 in 6 weeks. Unfortunately I am allergic to it and broke out in nasty little hives all over! (smile). I had no bad effects as far as mentality goes as a matter of fact I didn't feel much different except my urges to smoke were nearly cut in half. I say go for it. It can't hurt to try. Just for future reference I did finally quit smoking using Nicoderm Cq 21 milligram patch, It really works too. Good Luck to you.
