I am looking into buying a white ringneck dove and have researched it. I do however have a couple of questions that I haven't found the answer to, as they are pretty crude:

1) How long do they need outside of their cage each day? (in a 10ft by 10ft room)

2) Do I have to train them not to **** everywhere? Or do they always **** in the cage? How do I train this?

3)How often should I bath/shower them?

Doves are happy with little exercise. If you want to let them out for an hour or two, that's great. Otherwise, just get a big cage and let them do their own thing.
As for the poop, birds can't control that. They don't have the ability to "hold it" he way other animals can. When they gotta go, it just comes out. There are diaper like things you can get. The company calls them "flight suits". It prevents the poop from getting everywhere and has a "leash" that attaches to you so the bird can't fly away if you want to take him outside.
Once a week or every 2 weeks, put a big bowl of water (get a large dog food bowl) in the tub or shower for him. (less clean up, the bird will splash water everywhere.) He will take a bath if he wants to and leave if he doesn't.
Good luck and good on you for researching your pet before getting one.

As far as I know, no birds can completely control it. I'm pretty sure that most can't control it at all actually. Something about them completely lacking the muscle that most animals have haha :D

I work at a pet store and I know we had Diamond Doves, I'm pretty sure we had Ringneck's too. They were interesting, but they sold before I learned much about them.

I think most birds should be allowed a bath about once a week. As for out of cage time I think doves need much less than most parrots do, but more than most smaller birds. The general rule is at least an hour a day, but I'm afraid I cannot tell you specifically.
