On your back would be the best position. No need to place pillows to raise your butt. You should cut down on how often you have sex. Sperm is most potent when given enough time to recoup from activity. My doctor recommended having sex every 36 - 48 hours during those few days around your ovulation. In the event you don't know how to calculate your ovulation... here's the simple rule: if you know when you'll be starting your next period... count backwards 14 days, and that is the date you will ovulate. You are most fertile 2 days before, the day of, and the day after ovulation. I'm pregnant with my second child and I got pregnant both times following exactly those rules. My first pregnancy was successful the first month of trying. My second took 3 months (but I was also nursing my baby... so that slowed me down). I truly believe that too much sex can work against you.
By the way, you should take a quick pee (very important to flush out any bacteria that can travel to your bladder) right after you're done, and jump into bed to nap or to sleep. Don't worry... you won't leak those swimmers all out. Just be horizontal for a bit, and relax. The magic will happen.

Good Luck!

I only recently learn on a few web pages this identical query. It stated that missionary is a well function nevertheless a rear access that means (all fours) allows for for a deeper penetration and the sperm could have much less farther to visit get to their vacation spot, this may be a positive function whilst looking to conceive for a boy in keeping with the "shuttles" approach. The different approach recounted in those process books are usual missionary nevertheless the girl props her legs at the mans shoulders which must supply the identical advantage because the rear access function. Every lady's one of a kind so if you're ttc and inclined to do some thing then i propose that you've sex each different night time for a million cycle and do another function each time considering your the experimental style LOL and well success.

I am not sure if there are any particular positions or "techniques"...but I think I have tried them all! My DH and I tried to concieve for 8 months and no method worked for me~we eventually gave up trying after so long because it just wasn't happening. I tried keeping my legs up and pelvis up for 20 minutes, tried all positions laying down (standing up I heard makes it more difficult), tried opk's and even when they say I am ovulating I don't get pregnant, we tried having sex less and more and neither of those worked, I was even told to make sure I had an orgasm because it "sucked it up like a vac" (SORRY TMI). The worst part is I am extremely regular with a 28 day cycle on the dot every month so it shouldn't be so difficult. We eventually gave up trying and are leaving it up to God~it's the only way to stay sane...We did talk to a doctor who told us that just because my cycle is 28 though, it doesn't mean my O falls directly on day 14 (which would be typical) but it doesn't matter because we try and try and can't succeed....one day I guess.
Good luck to you and I hope everything happens for you quickly ;)

You may not believe this coming from a man but it did seem to work for my first wife and I. She was a registered nurse and worked in labor/delivery. She had heard that there was a way to better your chance of having a boy. We already had a daughter.

While you can never be certain we felt this did the trick as nine months later we had a boy.

Have sex doggy style. After he has reached orgasm you remain in the chest/knee position for another 5 or 10 min. This gives the sperm a much better chance of making it inside your uterus.

You will know when to do this.

Worked for us so worth a try.

I'd suggest lying on your back with your for at least 10 minutes after doing the deed. Give his spermies a chance to get up and into the cervix before being assaulted by gravity! Some women put a pillow under their bums to to give the little fellas extra help. If you don't know when you ovulate, I'd learn. I used BBT (Basal Body Temperature) charting to get pregnant. You need to be sure to make love around ovulation.

Position does not matter much.

To conceive you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.

After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.

After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.

Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 3 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

There are no definitive scientific studies on the subject, but the so-called missionary position is considered optimal for conception -- though, of course, you can get pregnant having intercourse in almost any position.

The missionary position got its name because missionaries reportedly insisted to their heathen flocks that all other positions were sinful, and that this face-to-face coital arrangement was the only acceptable one.

In the traditional missionary position, the woman lies on her back with her legs spread and both of her knees bent and her feet firm on the bed. The man is on top facing her. There are also variations on the basic missionary position: The woman raises one or both of her legs, for example, and the man holds them or places them on his shoulders; or she extends one or both of her knees.

The missionary position is the most popular because it's very comfortable and allows good body contact. The partners are facing and can kiss and hold each other the whole time they're having intercourse. The woman is able to move relatively freely, and the man can keep some of his weight off of her body by lifting himself up with his hands or elevating his body using his knees.

This position is good when it comes to conception because when the woman lies on her back, the vagina is tilted downwards toward the cervix, making it easier for the sperm to get through the cervix and into the uterus. Also a plus for the missionary position is that it allows the penis to penetrate more deeply into the vagina, so sperm can enter the cervix more directly right after ejaculation.

If you want to further improve your chances of conceiving, after ejaculation, take these steps:

The man should keep his penis in the vagina as deeply as possible so that a minimal amount of ejaculate leaks out
After withdrawing his penis, the man can gently press the woman's labia together to prevent further leakage
The woman should remain lying on her back for an additional 20 to 30 minutes, preferably with her lower back supported by a pillow so her pelvis is tilted slightly upward

It's normal for some of the ejaculate to flow out of the vagina when she gets up, and it doesn't lessen her chance of getting pregnant because at this point most sperm remaining in the vagina are no longer viable. For the same reason, staying on her back longer than 30 minutes won't improve a woman's chances of conception.

If you feel more adventuresome, consider these other positions to enhance your conception chances:

Lying side-by-side can be a relaxing position and easier on a partner who is overweight or has a back problem. Your can do this either face-to-face or in the "spoon" position with the man entering her vagina from behind.
In the rear-entry position, the man enters the woman's vagina from behind. She either lies on her abdomen, kneels, or they lie side-by-side. The man stands behind her, maybe at the end of a bed, or he kneels. This position also allows the sperm to be deposited close to the cervix.

Using either position, after he ejaculates, she can either stay on her abdomen for 20 or 30 minutes or roll onto her back with her hips elevated, as described above.

Needless to say, whichever positions you use to try to conceive, enjoy what you're doing and don't make it into a chore.

It took me a year to get pregnant. After my husband ejaculated, I had to lay with my legs in the air, so my pelvis was up. Try it. :) Good luck!
