Not many movies scare me. The first time I watched The Blair Witch Project I thought it was based on true events and it stayed with me and gave me the creeps for weeks!! Other than that movie, I can't really think of any that creeped me out like that one. I have never seen Salem's Lott but if it has to do with witchcraft (and it sounds like it does) then I'm sure it would be one that may have a chance at giving me the willies!!

Hellraisers. actually, the first two did. after that they started sucking really bad.

i grew up watching these movies. during that period of horror film making, slashers of supernatural proportions ruled the horror genre. though, i love freddy, hellraiser was a breath of fresh air.

there was no hold bars on the gore. the movie had intelligence and real maggots. it was the first film to ever do such a thing. pinhead is also another reason why hellraiser is my favorite. the cenobites just creep you out to no end.

hellraiser is also a great movie to see if you are a biology major. you see a few people moving about with no skin. quite grotesque and the coolest thing in the world.

Yup. I agree with you on that.

Try Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Toolbox Murders, Wrong Turn, the Blair Witch Project and of course Saw 1 and 2.

The Shining with Jack Nicholson. The very atmosphere, the eerie film score, and the acting was brilliant. The idea of being isolated in a huge, spooky old hotel with someone who goes completely mad, and having other "unexpected guests" is really unnerving!

Salam's Lot was the 1st horror movie that I saw all by myself, late one night, I was 7ish, and I had nightmares for years to come. Still sticks out as one of the best.

1999's The Blair Witch Project.

Such a genius, terrifying project! I loved how it played on primal fears and had a documentary-esque style. I swear, every. single. time. I watch it I am creeped out and sleep with the lights on. ;-)

I didn't watch the movie, but I did read the book, "Pet Sematary". I hated it, because at the time I read it, I had a 3 year old son and it creeped me out when that little kid was dead and came back.

Stigmata because it has to do with the holes on Jesus' body. They come through to this one girl who suffers from the same marks and then u learn that St. Francis had them in real life! So, rent it, watch it and make your own conclusions!
