Why do people make fun of asians? Do they have any good thoughts about them?

Hey have you missed all the comedy programmes where Europeans/Americans laugh at themselves?
There is nothing bad meant by it. It helps people deal with other cultures and the tensions that can build up because people think in different ways.
I live in an area of the middle east that has a large Asian population and I can assure that as the only Ghuri in my neighbourhood I have heard plenty of Asians make fun of Europeans and Americans.
It can only hurt you if you let it. Let it go or celebrate it.Either way Asian cultures are getting noticed and that is no bad thing!!!.

It really hurts my feels when people say that the Asian men are ugly, but the Asian women are "hot". You know, we have feelings to and we can read and hear what people say about us. Just because some of us have a good head on our shoulders and some of us care about our future doesn't mean society can rag on us. I mean honestly, my forefathers help build the Trans-continental railroad for the United States. My grandfather fought for the United States Navy in WWII. What else do you want us to do? Should all Asian men just go back to China? I don't even speak Chinese. I try really hard to be more "American". I'm sorry if I have yellow skin and even if I wear Abercrombie and Fitch, I still look like an ugly Asian guy. I don't know what else to say...

There will always be someone in this world that will make fun of another race. This type of person is generally is insecure about their self and ignorant of the rich cultures that others have to offer. I have spent time in China, and the Philippines and ended up getting married to a asian. In my travels I learned a great deal about people and how they think. It really gave me a great perspective on other cultures and their belifes, so believe me there are plenty of people who have good thoughts about asians.

I think the real reason behind is that MOST Asians are too closeted. Their culture always gets in the way that they don't really get to have an open social environment with other people.

ESPECIALLY their parents. Most Asian parents are SO anti-social to non-Asians.

And most have poor English. So there's the key to lack of communication with the outside world.

When you say "other people".. do you mean Westerners?

Whatever country you visit, you will find bigots or igorant people who are afraid of what is unknown to them.. Non-Asian countries may be threatened as well by the recent advances in Asian countries, and thus need to release some of the stress in childish comments or attacks.

Yes, many people do have good thoughts about Asian people and their culture..

People make fun of Asians for the same reason they make fun of anybody else. Because it is someone other than themselves. Or because they are trying to make themselves look better by making someone else look bad (bullies do that). Or because they are part of the few, the proud, the utterly stupid.

I live in an area that is racist against any one who isn't white. (Rural America). I have lived all over and have an open mind to anyone. Here I am amazed at the small minded state of affairs. But why? I believe it is fear of the unknown. People don't want to feel less than, so they put those others below them to build their own self worth. To bad not everyone hits a University for 4 years.

Everything in the world has surely at some point been the target for humour. I have trouble with this sort of thing too - when people make jokes (incredibly, this has actually happened...yeah, I know...) about dead babies, I actually want to beat those people to death with their own shoes. When men make horrible jokes about women, I want to kick them in the nuts. Maybe I just don't have a very good sense of humour? Hmm...
