why do you slow down when there is a line?

sometimes the whole reason a line even forms is because of a difficult customer with stupid questions and issues about what they are buying, or someone trying to get a refund without a reciept, etc.

its not always the cashier, sometimes it is the lame a$$ people in the line!

YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE, RETAIL STORES! I HATE THE STORES! THE CASH REGISTER IS SUCKING MY BRAINS OUT THROUGH MY FINGERTIPS! AAAAHHHHH!
No seriously, I used to be a cashier and I hated it.

You're so stereotyping. Most cashiers don't slow down if there's a line - it just seems like it to impatient people like you. And if we do slow down, it's probably because the line is putting us under stress, which then causes us to make mistakes more easily.

The solution - stop being so friggin impatient.

so people like u can go away. sorry u had that one coming, other employees and management will stay @ the back no help at all and will come out only when there is a problem. why do people go off on cashiers like their management. all in line talking about the cashiers like that will make them move any faster, the more you talk about it the slower they will seem.

I never slow down, in fact, I had a customer tell me the other night that I was the quickest one there... I just want a break and if you slow down it will just be longer until you get one...however, it is so irritating when people come through with an overflowing cart and want everything in paper bags!!(sorry to all those paper bag users out there!)

I don't slow down. I go at a steady pace.......because I know I hate standing in a slow line.

we don't, sometimes it is the feeling of "this will never end" that makes it seem slower...customers start to get impatient...sometimes its our genius managers that don't staff enough people...plus, when a customer gets an attitude with me that doesn't make me want to go faster, it makes me mad...cashiers have feelings too you know. but personally i try my hardest to get everyone out as soon as I can, but sometimes problems arise, and I have no choice but to take my time with people, because, they get irritated when I "rush" them...can't win for losing!

we dont do it on purpose, sometimes items ring up the wrong price then we have to go and fix it and the register decides to be retarded and screw up and sometimes it s customers who change there minds a million time on what they want.
