There's a line going through a point parabola and the focus with a slope 1/2. That's all to the question..?

Unless I don't understand the question, there is no way to find the parabola. The line doesn't give us any clues, because we have no idea what point on the parabola the line is going through.

it comes out with a virtual slope of 1/2

I don't quite understand your question.... please explain more.
EDIT:
If the parabola is going straight through the origin, then it would be 1/2x^2 (I think?)
