I don't really need to hear from you conservatives because I pretty much know the drivel that will leak out of the corner of your mouths. Actually, I wouldn't mind hearing your opinion either, as long as you can somehow remain respectful, and only if you plan on voting for the best candidate, not the party you have always voted for.

Me? Let's do a hypothetical here: Powell, Clinton, Nader (isn't he always there?)

Being a democrat leaning person, but voting with my head...I would vote for Powell in a second.

But Jeb Bush (God, I hope not) vs. Clinton, I think I go with Clinton.

Thoughts?

Oh my god, I would vote for my dog at this point if that's what it took to get Bush out of office. But, in all seriousness, I'm assuming your speaking of Hillary Clinton, and yes, I plan to vote for her when the time comes. Apparently, it takes a Clinton to clean up a Bush's mess. Plus, I think it's high time we see what direction a woman, especially a democrat, will lead this country in. Someone needs to restore this America to its original glory. Plus, she is an intelligent woman with good ideas that aspires to do right by the country. It's too bad her name was dragged through the mud by the whole Lewinsky bull shite, but it takes a strong woman to go through something like that and still remain in the public spotlight, demanding to be taken seriously.

As for Jeb Bush, god forbid, I would cut off my finger before voting for him. But, chances are, he will probably be elected whether we vote for him or not. I say it's time for some anarchy.

Where do I go to nominate my dog???

So many Clintons to choose from.

DeWitt Clinton would not be a bad choice. He ignored his critics and turned New York into a centre of commerce and trade. His only real negative is that he's been dead for 178 years!

I presume that you are referring to Senator Hillary Clinton of New York. In this case, I would be hesitant to cast a popular vote for her. It's not because of her gender (I think that we should experience a female President sometime), but because of her history and ideology.

If she were to be elected to the Presidency, I can see the first two years of her administration as a complete disaster, much in the same way that her husband's first two years were a disaster. His administration was wrecked by trying to enact a lot of social reforms without the action to have them come into being, and this was with a Congress control by his own party. After the 1994 mid-term elections, William Clinton's presidency was effectively on cruise control for the remaining six.

In the 1990's, a caretaker presidency was acceptable as we were in a period of economic growth and relative global peace. However, with external threats looming from beyond our borders and an economy with an uncertain future, I fear that a president that would generate much domestic hostility (as I suspect of Ms. Clinton) would have disastrous consequences.

Just to clarify, I am a moderate-to-left-of-centre independent that voted for Kerry in the last election, believing that President Bush has wrecked our national credibility throughout much of the world.

If you mean Hillary, I would have a very hard time voting for her. Nader, no matter how much I respect him would not have a chance in hell of winning. Powell would definitely be a consideration. But he lied, too. And it broke my heart because I really liked him. Can Bill Clinton run again?

I'm not a big fan of Clinton simply because the issues she decides to tackle aren't really all that important in the scheme of life. She made a huge issue about video games - when compared to war, homeless, healthcare, economy and civil rights issues it seems to me there are better things to battle with. I would go with Powell over Clinton, however if the democratic representative was Clinton I would certainly vote for her.

Clinton for both are you kidding me? her middle left agendas are what is needed for this country. We have strayted way too far to the extreme right. Well not all of us but the country has at least moved to the right. Clinton would become a proponent of women's rights and would be a guardian of civil liberties.
Jeb Bush is George Bush's *****
Powell is a militaristic braggart
Nader- im tired of him wasting votes, hes NEVER going to win
McCain- uses his military background too much as a respect tool

I'd vote for Hillary. Not because I think she'd win, but because I owe it to my mom.

After being a lifelong Republican, she finally became disenchanted with them as she grew older and began seeing more of the fallout from their policies. For the last few years she was alive, she would frequently proclaim that all she wanted was to live long enough to be able to vote for Hillary Clinton for President.

She died a couple of years ago, on the morning of her and my dad's 58th wedding anniversary.

So even though I think the Democrats would be fools to run her and she doesn't have a snowball's chance in Hell of winning, if Hillary runs, I'll vote for her.

You'd vote for POWELL? Ugh. I might have at one time, before he sold out to be Bush's boy. That's the one thing for which I'll always be grateful to Dubya - he showed me Colin Powell's true colors, so to speak. John McCain's, too.

Hillary now has political experience of her own. She has done a great job in NY. Her husband will always be a helping hand. In my opinion, Bush has taken this country in the wrong direction. Whoever is picked as the Republican candidate in 2008 will likely want to continue Bush's failed policies. I'd vote for Clinton over any Republican/Independent.

OK i am a liberal democrat. Are you talking Bill or Hillary? Bill i'd only vote for him if it was Jeb Bush or Dick Cheney. If it were Hillary i'd be hard pressed to vote for her at all. But if it were against Cheney i'd probably have to stab myself in the heart and vote for Hillary.
Now Powell on the other hand i'd WANT to vote for him but never would just out of fear that some flippin KKK wanna be skin head jerk would shoot him. Even though he would be a great president.

Powell given the first choice, Clinton given the second. Jeb Bush is governor of my home state; he's good when it comes to disaster preparedness but not much else.
