Why is it ok for the NAACP to exist - would it be ok if there was the NAAWP?

I'm not racist in the least but things like this bug the crap out of me. It's ok for women to have all women's clubs but then they'll go and protest all mens clubs (like at the Master's Golf Tournament) and it's ok for African American's to have an group unto themselves, but if white's do the same thing it's protested against. I just don't understand why it's ok for one group but not another.

I am of the opinion that your lot in life is yours to decide. Who you are and what you are not is purely a personal decision. Many people spend far too much time blaming everyone else for their misfortune while missing the point! you are responsible for your future. As a white woman,I grew up in the ghetto with poor parents and I WAS the minority! but I overcame obstacles that presented themselves and I am the person I want to be, and I have the occupation I want to work in. The fact is, it isn't about race, color, or creed it is about perseverance, will power, and desire to succeed! the reason there isn't a NAAWP is that White men are persecuted on a daily basis by every other race, and gender, essentially becoming a social scapegoat. People who do not know how to take responsibility for their actions blame others and when all else fails blame the white man! I blame no one for my failures but myself. If i fail to accomplish what I have set out to achieve then I have to do better! in summation the reason that there is no NAAWP is people need someone to blame for their lack of effort and laziness, people NEED to rally together for a common plight and all that comes of living your life in a "victim" stance is becoming another mindless societal victim. Personally I refuse to accept this and take action to ensure that I live a better life rather than point the finger at another.

Look at the examples you're giving, both women and Blacks are minorities. White women are minorities as well, women of all races are. White men have everything already so what's wrong with women having something for a change? Whites still have the upperhand in America, why do you need an organization to help you fight for rights when you already have them? Blacks only have them by law, but they're still not abided by all of the time. That's why organizations like the NAACP exist. But I think its time they changed their name because we're not Colored People anymore, that's so outdated. I've heard this question from people before but it's the same as asking why do they have Section 8 housing and handicapped parking spaces? It's for people with limits who don't receive help otherwise. It's like you don't even have a voice, someone who has power has to speak up for you, otherwise, you won't be heard.

Okay, I'd better withdraw that before I have Homeland Security on my behind, but I'm sure many would agree that racism and cronyism edge out a lot well qualified minorities form acheiving any type of real advancement.

There was a time in the (so called) United States of America when you couldn't be elected, or even vote, if you weren't a member of the Klu KLux Clan.....Give me a break Dude. the NAAWP is called AMERICA, duh, since we are a minority, makes sense to stick together, if there was a NAAWP, most people probabaly just would care, cause it already exists, country clubs.
