Is the brand Tampax better or Playtex or something? What do you like better?

I know this is more than one question, but how do you put them in? I feel uncomfortable talking about it with my sister. And the instructions do NOT help.

Lets start with regular tampax vs. tampax pearl. Personally, I prefer the Pearl version. It has a plastic applicator which makes using it easier than the cardboard stiff applicator of the other. Also the Pearl has an absorbant braid which is wonderful! So if you are ending the near of class and you know you need to head to the bathroom, this is where the braid is helpful.

Now Tampax Pearl (not regular tampax) and Playtex. Both have the same style applicator which makes using it easy and comfortable. I used to use Playtex before they made Tampax Pearl. Now I go right for the Pearl.

Now for the task of putting them in. It may take a few times and some maneuvering to get it, but eventually you'll find that they are comfortable. The instructions definatly don't help! So here's a few pointers that may be helpful...Try putting on foot on the floor and propping one foot up on the tub or toilet. Or keep both legs on the floor and slightly bend your knees. Like I said, it may take awhile to get use to a position to put them in but you'll prefer either brand over the use of a "pad."

Tampax Pearl are the total best, I think. They are super absorbant and go in very easily. If you need some help putting it in put some Vasiline on it and it might help you. Put one foot on the toilet and bent your knees a bit. Make sure you get it up there far enough because it's no fun if it feels like it's falling out. And pulling out a dry tampon hurts. Good luck.

No, there is no different in the brand but the Pearl is often used by teenagers or first time user because it is easier to slide it in. The pearl has a rounded head and slim body so it won't feel like you are shoving a handful of tissue up there.

As for your sister: It doesn't have to be her. Any older female relative or friend should be able to help you. Even a school counselor. They are trained to help in all circumstances.

The pearl one is easier to insert I think. How old are you? The first couple of times its kind of awkward but eventually you will get it right. You will probably waste some tampons but that is how you learn. I usually squat and make sure that I have a good view then slowly insert. Make sure that its all the way in and then pull out the applicator and discard. I hope this helps you.
