Bunnies and Guinea Pigs living together is just like when a dog and a cat live together. Sometimes they really like each other, and sometimes not. The problem is that when you are not watching, someone could get hurt.
It's best to either get another bunny or get the guinea pig it's own cage. That way they can play together, under close supervision, but you don't have to worry that someone will go crazy one day and hurt the other.
Also, the bunny would have more fun with another bunny. They "speak the same language" and Guinea Pigs have a funny accent. Just kidding
Pet rabbits and guinea pigs usually don't carry and diseases that would be dangerous to the other. That is not the worry, the worry is behavior, and aggresion.

Do you plan to keep them together? When you go into a pet shop, you'll see bunnies and guinea pigs together sometimes. From what I've seen, they do get along, HOWEVER, bunnies get a lot larger than guinea pigs and can hurt them without intending to. Another problem is food, a guinea pig should not eat bunny food, they need food that is high in vitamin C.

It's probably not a good idea.
I've heard many stories of guinea pigs and rabbits enjoying eachother's company, however, I've read enough with bad endings to make me wary about keeping them together.

"A guinea pig and was bonded with a dwarf rabbit. All was well on getting along, until a noise in the home startled the rabbit who was lying next to the guinea pig. The unintended injury caused from the jump of the dwarf rabbit resulted in the death of the guinea pig."

"At first I thought it was a great idea to put my rabbit in with my guinea pigs. They were free-range so I believed that space would not be an issue. I had the rabbit blood-tested for Pasteurella (note: these tests often give false negatives) and designed what I thought was a clever environment, with the rabbit’s food up high where only he could get at it.

But the situation didn’t work out the way I had planned. The rabbit went around eating all the guinea pigs’ pellets and hardly touched his hay. He was possessive about his vegetables and would 'ork' and dive at the guinea pigs if they came near him during veggie time. And I soon realized that my rabbit was very lonely. He would follow the guinea pigs around and groom them, then put his head down to be groomed in return. The pigs would just walk away. Pretty soon he was spending all his time on his food shelf, looking bored and angry.

I realized that I had made a mistake and adopted a nice spayed female bun to be his companion. Everyone is much, much happier now."

I suggest you get your rabbit another rabbit instead. :)

No, because bunnies can pass on deadly diseases to guinea pigs. You should never house a rabbit with a guinea pig.

Guinea pigs and bunnies tend to get along very well. Go for it, if you have proper living space for them.

Rabbits and guine pigs shouldn't be housed together if you were thinking of doing that. They don't always get along and if they don't the rabbit could easily kill the pig. Also they both have very different nutritional requirments.

i totally have to answer this question!!
i had a rabbit a few years back...the best pet i've ever had, actually. anyway, i also had rats. they were great pets also. (i now have more traditional pets, dog, cat)
a rat that was given to me ended up having babies. i did not have an extra cage to put then in so i put then in the rabbits cage until i got them their own. (i could not leave them in with the male...for he would have killed them.) i was nervous to put them in the rabbits cage but did not know what else to do.
he ended up taking care of them with the mom. they would sleep under him and on top of him. he would lick them and play with them. i ended up keeping them all together for years! they all loved it! shared the same food, went to the bathroom in the same space everything. and my rabbit seemed so much ahppier to have the company.
he was special. he taught me tha rabbits can swim....
betcha didn't know that. he loved it so much that i bought him a kiddie pool and in the summer he'd play in it.
anyway, get your rabbit a friend. it would like it.
my rabbit weighed 19 pounds...not fat just big. and the rats were so tiny compared to them...every now and then he's step on one and it would screach...and he'd do what you or i would do if we accidently stepped on a kitty or puupy...turn around and feel real bad and make sure it was okay.
this is a true story...
oh, i could tell story after story about my shelby!
