I don't like my name, I only like the meaning (follower of Christ), but other than that, it's too common...

very common, and I'm sorry I'm sure your a wonderful person, but I've never had a positive experience with anyone I've ever known named Kristen. No offense to you, in fact I'd like to have a new outlook on the name. You seem nice. The meaning is beautiful you should embrace that.

I think its a perfectly good name. But if you're interested in someone calling you something different just to try it out ... without going through the whole legal process ...
change a couple of letters around and make it: Kirsten
go for a nick name: Kitten
Or just shorten it: Kris
See if any of those suit you.
