Would have to know the dimensions of the proposed structure and the size of the particular brick you will be using. When doing the calculation for coverage, you need to include a 3/8" mortar joint for each top and side joints. You should also factor in a certain percentage for breakage or damaged bricks. Other factors to know would be the size of openings for doors and windows. How the layout of the bricks will be patterned will influence overall amounts needed as well.

Houses these days are more apt to be framed, then faced with brick in place of wood or vinyl or wood-like siding. Measure the external area of the house to be faced and calculate the square footage needed from that measurement. The result of that calculation will be used by your masonry contractor to estimate the number of bricks needed (after you've selected the bricks you want).

well since you gave no dimensions of the house I would say as a mathmatical fact that it takes "X" bricks to build a house.
X cannot equal 0, be imaginary, or negative.

Depends on two things:

Is it a crap house your building? IF so, you might want to start chitting now, as for you will need to chit alot of bricks.

If it is a regular house, you may need several thousands, if not a million, depends on how big of a house you want.

Not enough information. How big a house will be? How big is the brick?

But oh well...

about 100 as long as you sell them for at least 15.5
put that together and you can build away

bricks usually go 13.5 in Cali but you can get 15.5 in in the south and 21.5 on th east coast

nothing like a bird in the hand and 100 in the bush eh?
