Having recently lived in Vegas, I can answer your question with authority and precision. Stay away from ALL of the extended stay places that some have suggested! They are extremely pricey. I stayed at one of these on Boulder highway and the cost was about 1000 per month. There are many suitable hotels in the old downtown area that would be much less expensive. They may not be as nice as the one's on Boulder Highway, but surely you can find something in the area I've suggested. Good luck and have fun!!!

I found a few on Craig's List for sublet and temporary rental

Also there are a few furnished w/kitchenettes hotels on Boulder Highway (east of the strip) for resonable price. Hidden Harbour or Harbour Pointe, something like that.
