I have a pain in my right lower back, i have MAJOR and frequent pain during urination and i feel like ive got to pee pretty often. I know its either a kidney, bladder, or urinary tract infection im not sure which but i want to know if i wait will it get better, or if i wait will it get worse. I am pretty much unable to go to the doctors for quite a while and i just dont want it to get serious.
thanx

Sara..it's hard to say if waiting to see the doctor is good or not...your best bet is to see the doctor just to make sure what is causing you to hurt.
Do the right thing ... take good care of you and go see a doctor.

I'm guessing it's probably a kidney infection. I've had UTI's before and I've never had the back pain, but I do know that your kidneys are back there. Anyway, not like I'm a doctor, right? But I'd go get it checked out because every infection I've ever had needed antibiotics. But here's what WebMD says:

"Kidney infection (pyelonephritis)

A kidney infection occurs when bacteria travel from the bladder up the ureters and into the kidneys. Occasionally, kidney infections may occur when bacteria in the blood enter the kidneys.

In addition to painful urination and other symptoms of a bladder infection, symptoms of kidney infection also include:

Pain on one side of the back, just below the rib cage and above the waist. This is often called flank pain.
Fever.
Nausea and vomiting.
If not treated with antibiotics, the infection may damage the kidneys. The infection may also spread to the bloodstream and become life-threatening, especially in young children and the elderly."

I'd go to the doctor just to be safe.

If you are actually having pain on the lower right side of your back you should really get to a doctor asap. This means that you have an infection in your kidneys/bladder and it's bad enough to where you are having pain in your kidney. You aren't going to get better by waiting to go to the doc, you will only get worse. You need to be treated by antibiotics. The sooner you go, the better - it isn't good to let an infection go untreated, especially when it is in one of your organs. Go see your doctor!

GO TO THE HOSPITAL!!!!!

I had the same symptoms and it was a kidney infection. My lower back was killing me. The doctor told me if I waited another day I would be in BAD shape. They did an ultrasound to make sure everything below the bellybutton checked out ok.

Sara Bear.........if your urine is colored like cola color that means blood is in the urine. With the pain you are experiencing it seems like it could be any of the above mentioned infections. Antibiotics need to be prescribed, if so. Until you can get to your doctor please drink lots and lots and lots and lots of water and cranberry juice. Do make a doctor appt asap!

It will not go away, and it sounds like it has progressed from UTI to nephritis. Left untreated, you can cause permanent damage to your kidneys and to your heart. Please get treated, the sooner the better. Going to the ER now would be a wise choice if you do not have an urgent care nearby.

I believe it is a kidney infection. I have had them and you will only get worse. You need to be treated with antibiotics. It is already serious.

Sounds like a kidney infection. You'd better see a doctor before it goes septic. You don't want it to go septic.

Go to E.R. a.s.a.p. This is not nothing to play with. I don't see how you are standing the pain , because i know it is painful. If you go to the E.R. in the U.S. they cannot refuse to see you -this is serious and if you don't get it taken care of you will end up in the hospital-maybe for a while.
