Have read the lyrics. They don't entirely make sense to me. He's concerned about his sister doing something, but *what*?

Sister Christian
Oh the time has come
And you know that you're the only one
To say O.K.
Where you going
What you looking for
You know those boys
Don't want to play no more with you
It's true

You're motoring
What's your price for flight
In finding mister right
You'll be alright tonight

Great song!

It's about growing up and not being sheltered anymore by belief or immaturity. It's about facing the real world and that moving through it is a matter of personal will, not just doing what you always thought you must.

That's what I always thought of it anyway. I grew up with the music of that era. Hadn't thought about it in a while.

I always thought it was about a young woman choosing between her religious chastity & losing her virginity.

I'm listening to this song on Limewire right now. Wasn't it included in the soundtrack to Charlize Theron's "Monster" about the serial killer prostitute Aileen Wuornos? It reminds me of that movie...

It's a plea from a guy to a girl to notice him. He observes that she's looking for "Mr. Right" and going about it in a reckless and self-destructive manner only to be thwarted again and again. Meanwhile, all this time the one who is the answer to her dreams is right in front of her, just begging to be seen.

I'm listening to it now, so I'll give you my impromptu reactions...

Sorta sounds like a letter to a Nun....

I consider it similar to "Elenor Rigby" by the Beatles....or "Only the Good Die Young" by Billy Joel.

I think it's about a woman who is considering becoming a nun.....and she's the only one to say "okay". So, I'm speculating she decides to become a nun.
