no...the rich ought to pay more taxes, they can afford to. does paris really need another $10,000 purse, or does the single mother behind the counter @ your local Mickey D's need a $2.00/hr raise?....hmmm..tough choice..NOT!

The Estate Tax would cover everyone not just the rich. Why should the government be allowed to heavily tax anyone's personal estate when they die, just so it can take a larger share and misuse it like it does the rest of the tax revenues it gleans each year.
I don't have a large estate (if you're curious). I just feel its unfair for any single group of Americans to be overtaxed because they have more resources than another group. Class envy, a popular weapon of some political parties, is outdated. It's time we stopped being jealous of others and be thankful for what we have (no matter how much or how little).

Republican ideology in itself is not fair. Let's help the rich at the expense of the poor. These are the most religious people in the United States, yet the policies are against helping those in need. However, it seems that democratic policies of helping minorities and fighitng for social justice makes a stronger point and would help society in general. P.S. No one works harder for their money and to survive than those who are being paid on minimum wage or less. By paying them less, we take away their right of pursuit of happiness and equality for all because there would be no way for them to do better for themselves. As it is, higher education is a luxury and only those who money can afford it. You need to have money to make it and if those two dollars are going to hurt Paris Hilton, so be it.

So who should get Paris Hilton's money? It's hers so why shouldn't she get to keep it? The whole time her daddy was earning money he was paying taxes on it, so you in all your wisdom feel that she should lose 55% of her inheritance simply because her parents died? Get real, it's her money and you nor the government, have no right to dig through her pockets.

Guess who is ultimately going to have to make up for the missing estate tax revenue?
It's yet another move to shift the tax burden onto the lower class.

Yup.... But if you feel bad, give all *your* money to the poor. Min. wage isn't meant to support a family, it's an entry level wage. It's for someone just getting into the workforce.... geeze, even MacDonald's pays more than the min.

Sweetflower, you are mistaken. I am all in favor of helping those in need. "To reach into your own pocket to help others is commendable. To reach into the pockets of others to do the same is despicable and worth of condemnation." Walter Williams.
Those on minimum wage may work hard, but they would be better served helping themselves to the many programs offering free education.

No, she should be taxed twice which is what the estate tax cut will prevent.
