I disagree with Paul McCartney.

(Hey Paul made some great songs!)

No, you see, these companies that are supposedly American based and doing all that have found a way to dump on the U.S. taxpayer.

They got this through years of fanagling around D.C. and using our elected officials as their Go-To guys.

Elected officials fed off them through P.A.C. money (sometimes called soft money), so the door was blown wide open for them to get low if hardly any taxes to pay, while not hiring Americans to get the benefits of low wages in other countries.

And now I'm being told that we should embrace this new global economy because now capitalism can run smooth and we all could be sipping tequilas on the Mediteraen through our stock purchaces of these flakey American Corporations.

The only problem remaining is...

Who pays off the 8.4 trillion dollar national debt?

If they keep wages low, doesn't that erode the tax base?

If the head honchos live here and run it from here and pay whatever taxes they need to pay, then yes, unfortunately, it does make the company an "American" Company. There are certain parts of the Caribbean that are considered under U.S. control. There are some really good articles about globalization and the free trade agreements between the U.S. and other countries, and what it has done on adbusters.com. It's a great political website, even though they've gone corporate like everyone else.

Many international companies have their main offices in the Caribbean as a tax dodge...i.e. Jardine Matheson, one of the original trading companies of Hong Kong (opium smugglers at that time) moved their offices to the Caribbean. Hiring workers in China is limited to companies located in China...it is difficult to get exit visas (a surety bond of $10,000 US is required by the Government of China....far beyond the average worker).

Sure, it is the global economy that everybody wanted. Now you got it and you complain!

Regulations chases businesses and jobs out of the US...the regulations don't protect anybody if the businesses are gone.

Vote for Liberals and you'll get more regulations. Business doesn't have to stay in the US anymore.

GO OUTSOURCING!!
