Why are Americans so unwilling to face terrorism???

Right now there are thousands and thousands of terrorists who are willing to give up their lives just to kill americans. In the mean time, poloticians sit back as if nothing is wrong. Eventually there will be another 9/11 or, god forbid, worse. The blame for that will be that we didn't get enough support in the world against this threat.

I think most Americans didn't see the impact of 9/11 face to face. It may have seemed very real but now its faded. And I think the media doesn't help. If they covered the atrocities that the terrorists commit with the same vigor that they attack American troops, maybe your average person would understand that we're fighting a very real war against very evil people.

Also, I don't agree with the above answer. Did you forget that THEY attacked us? And if we are the cause, why do they bother setting off bombs in London, Spain, and every other western country?

Because we've had some odd thousand citizens die in the last twenty years from terrorism. And many of those deaths are now avoidable from the reforms after 9/11.
Much more have died from natural disasters, crime, drugs, even auto accidents every year! Sure, only one or two people die at a time, but it piles up!
Terrorism is scary and should be taken seriously, but let's keep it in perspective.
