The first thing your kitty saw when it was born is what it thinks it is.. The problem in cases like this is when a kitten is taken away from its mother when its born, the kitten can actually think its a human, there is really no way to change the animals mind, you have to work with what you got, but some things I know will help is, make sure your kitten is raised around other cats, getting another kitten for it to play with will deffinitley help, and if its not to old, it could reverse the identity problem.

HA HA HA! i cant believe you said that. I also have a cat that doesnt know hes a cat. I dont no what your cat thinks he is, my mine thinks hes a dog. He lays in the positions dogs do, he will just plop down anywhere and lay ther (like a dog) he wil even go outside and eat out of my dogs foodbowl! And my dog (who used to be a big strong guard dog) Also thinks my cat is a dog. I think he has accepted my cat as his alphamale!!!! He brings him tennis balls, and protects him from my other cat, its hallarious. My dog is acting more like a cat than my cat! he only lays on his little bed, he plays with cat toys (he loves to fetch a toy red cat mouse) and he treats my cat as king. *sigh* i have some messed up pets! but as for your cat, just let him think whatever he wants to think and make sure he is happy.

I'd say this is a healthy kitty cat. I'd worry if she thought she was a dog or something.

Well at least the cat is not as confused as the rest of the animals at your house.

here are the other questions you posted:
Help! My bird think he a kitty cat?
Help! My rat think hes a kitty cat?
Help! My lizard thinks hes a kitty cat?
Help my dog think he a kitty cat?

I think it is the owner that is confused, she thinks these questions are funny.

Some idea of what the trouble is WOULD be helpful. What does he do that you object to?

On second thought, it probably doesn't matter. In my experience there is no way to get a cat to think anything he doesn't already think.

First, Amy, we need to know who your Kitty cat thinks he is.

If he thinks he is a dog, we need to teach him to purr and drink milk.

But, if he thinks he is a fish, we need to get him out of the fish tank. Then, teach him to breathe.

you can't make a cat think like a cat. the way you raise the cat is how it will act. i have raise cat from kittens and none act like a cat , they think they are human, that how i treat my babies. i do it to all my pets. every-ones says i spoil my pets, what can i say I'm an animal lover. they are like my kids.
