I usually ignore the behavior and continue what I was doing.
I heard this is how dogs say "hello". They are only being friendly, right? Plus, how would you feel if somebody kicked or stopped you when you were "getting busy?"

(Although, I don't have as many visitors as I used to)

no way is this acceptable .you will never have any guest over again after 1 visit to your house. sniffing is 1 thing when the dog first meets the person but humping? id be thumping you if you didnt call your dog off Understand? i think you know this already

Definitely acceptable. If I were a guest at your house I would find it offensive if your dog didn't start humping me and would begin to worry that there was something wrong with me.

Yes. Please continue to allow your dogs to say hello to your guests. But if the tables turn and your guests start to snii or hump your dog, by all means put an end to it in an unequivocal way.

No,that's very rude to let the dog do that.My dog used to try and do that so we gave hima stuffed animal that he can "get busy" with. And letting him sniff people's butts is unacceptable too,but instead of hurting the dog tell your guests to push the dog down and say "no."

Ya know, Timmy, I've been reading these answers, some seem to think that you should be doing this instead of leaving it up to the dog, and others think that the dog should be "fixed". HMMM, if you greeted your guests this way, would you have to be "fixed"?

Your guest should look at it a different way... It could be you that was sniffing their butts or humping their legs. Which one is worse?

no way! if you know the dog does this then you should put him in another room where you can close the door or have him fixed

I guess it is better that your dog do it to your guests, rather than you having to do it, right?
