no way! only change yourself for you, not for someone else

Hello! Let's see, the answer is of course no, but it isn't wrong to want to improve. Have you ever heard the expression: When you look good, you feel good? If you haven't, it is 100% true! Are you in high school or something? Well people make fun of me at school because I speak "proper" english compared to everyone else, I actually do all my work, I don't dress like a hooker, and I'm a military brat. I'm not ugly or anuthing I just don't want to dress with my chest and butt all hanging out.

Here is an option for: continue what you are doing now while making minor improvements where you think you need them. In your senior year, blow 'em out of the water by showing up looking really good. Get your hair done, change glasses into contacts, whatever you want. The people who were making fun of you before won't have anything to make fun of anymore and you'll feel great! If guys shunned you then, they won't do that anymore either. That is my plan.

Good luck!

It depends on you. How much does it bother you when other people make fun of you? If you're comfortable with yourself then nothing else matters.
In a perfect world, I would say no--never change for someone else. However you are the one that has to live with being made fun of.
I will tell you this though, I'm 26 years old and have very curly hair. When I was young, kids made fun of it because it was different, now as an adult, it is the feature about me that I get the most compliments about.
So, if you are young, wait to change anything. You could end up changing something that turns out to be your best feature.

Ive learned a long time ago that you can change your outward appearance for better self esteme, but it wont make anyone like you more.
The key word is improve. If you think its an improvement and want to do it, go for it. If it is to change your style or get in with the "in" crowd, I would say no.
Keep your health and your good attitude and do what I did many years ago....Tell them to fly a kite. Find yourself some true friends and dont pay the others any mind.
Trust me, youll be happier in the long run. The beautiful people arent so beautiful when you get to know them.

The only person you have to impress is yourself. Improve on you to make yourself feel better not other people. There will always be someone with something negative to say. You have to live your life for you. The people that are making fun are probably more insecure about themselves than you are. So while they are talking you keep walking.

No!!! You should do things to improve yourself for YOU, not for anyone else. And remember that people who make fun of others are insecure themselves and they are the ones with a problem.

The only reason you should change yourself is if you want to change.
I've always been a little violent, and I had a bad habit of hitting people. Most of the time I wouldn't be trying to hurt them, but I have a hefty punch, and that hurts. Esspecially since I know where to hit you in the shoulder and make your arm go all tingly/numb.
Anyway, I stopped because I didn't want to hurt anyone anymore.

Change yourself only when it is for yourself, or for someone you have an obligation too.

Like a parent may change themselves if what they do puts their children in danger.

Don't change for a boy, trust me, it only makes thing worse in the end. Change only if you feel it is right.

each one of us is uniquely created by God. But I think its not bad to improve oneself. Why were they making fun of you? if its the way you dress.. change a little for comfort.. if its your hair.. consult a hairstylist..etc.. sometimes criticism is a good motivation for self improvement. THEN AFTER YOU HAVE IMPROVE URSELF INTO A NEW U GET RID OF THE PEOPLE WHO LAUGHED AT YOU BEFORE. They are not your friends.

No, only if you are unhappy with yourself.

Of course, if you don't like people making fun of you, you either need to make yourself feel okay about being teased, or to change whatever it is that they're teasing.

I feel a little superficial saying that, but here's an example that might help: my weight tends to yo-yo, and when I'm putting on weight I don't necessarily notice it myself or I can even justify it to myself and feel okay about it. It's not until people around me start treating me differently (and people do treat people differently based on looks) that I realise I'm not happy and I need to fix the problem. So, in the end, it's about doing whatever it takes to make me feel better.

But if it's something like the colour of your hair or whatever, if it doesn't bother you and it doesn't impact on your health, who cares? Let people say whatever they want. Obviously they have very small, insignificant lives to need to do that anyway.

Hope that's answered your question.

When people make fun of others they are usually insecure with themselves...as long as your happy with your self then no one else should matter!! Stay strong and be your self because being your self means your being the best you can be!!
