This is such a subjective issue. What makes one person annoying is whatever another person gets annoyed by. So it really depends.
If you're looking for universal traits that are unattractive, however: generally selfishness, agressiveness, self-absorption are all counter-adaptive traits, because they tie into our subconscious primal instincts: to be with people who are loyal and will care for us, improving our chances of survival.
But of course there are exceptions. Hope that (vaguely!) helps!

A person is annoying when there is a lack of the opposite: positive interaction. If people ignore each other, eventually anything will become annoying because the behaviour stands out so much in contrast. When the positives outweigh the negatives you don't notice as much.
So a lack of a giving character in yourself, and the other, will lead to this.

Always being in a bad mood, talking loudly while standing two feet away from you, bad breath, stupidity, failure to bathe, acting like they can and will kick anyone's azz for any stupid reason, driving through neighborhoods at 2 in the morning on a weeknight with the bass on the crappy car stereo maxxed out, talking on a cell phone while driving or in a quiet public place, being physically or verbally abusive, failing to pay child support, wearing clothes that are five sizes too big making them waddle like they shat themselves, ordering salad and water at a fast food restaurant, paying for $12 worth of stuff with unrolled pennies, gossip, adultery, idiocy...
the list is endless, really... :D

Ignorance, loudness, arrogance, and persistence in all these fields.
I get irritated by people who make stupid comments, or babble on trying to prove thei intelligence when they're so painfully wrong. Makes me grind my teeth. I also hate ignorant people,as in those who possess prejudices because they lack understanding of people's circumstances and do not desire to change this.
I hate persistently loud attention seeking types who make noise purely for the sake of it. I want to slap them.
And I can't stand people who bask in the glory of the sun shining from their own behinds (or so they think).
Ugh. They are annoying people.

Thinking you know everything. Also, cutting in between conversations-especially when on one asked for your gosh damn opinion. People who are belligerent for know fcuking reason-drama kings/queens. People who need help-mentally or physically, but won't get any, and just biitch about it, expecting sympathy; making everybody else's life so fcuking miserable. Loud, rude "I'm the diva", idiots. Most of all, people who frown upon your fault and hypocrisys, but somehow miss to see theirs. Oh, and people who are so fcuking biased and think that their opinion is superior to everybody else's.

I've heard it said that the traits that we find annoying about ourselves, we tend to pick out in others. People tend to get annoyed with others who display traits that they find bothersome, or worrisome in themselves. For example, if you tend to worry that you are too compulsive, compulsive people will tend to annoy you.

When he's loud, obnoxious, judgmental, mean, angry, scolding, fault-finding, blames eveybody for his problems, narrow-minded, opinionated, impatient, and acting like a total jerk and an *** hole. When he's in a berrating mood, insulting, name-calling,
repetitive always interru pting your conversations, and he doesn't allow you to finish your statements. Or when he directs you how to act, dress, behave, eat and talk in his manner. Or when he's
impolite, and have lousy table manners like talking with his mouth full, or while chewing , makes a lot of noises, or chewing with his mouth open,Or when he doesn't show any respect to you or to any elderly people. or when he embarrasses you in front of everybody. Or when he makes a spectacle of himself, you refuse to acknowledge he's your date. Or when he treats you like his inferior. or when he's a sexist, and a racist.
