Go with the basics first, like Jeans, T-shirts, Capris, etc... do not go overboard wait until you've started school to see what it is you will feel most comfortable in with your new friends, there's nothing worse than choosing an outfit just because you think it's popular or because you saw some kid on TV wear it and then getting to school and being made fun of. Go with something easy that you know everyone wears, you'll have enough anxiety on this day if it's your first day in a public school.

Well what grade are you in? It all depends on that usually. I'm going into my junior year and people at my school wear just about anything. There aren't labels really. Some people can't get over middle school labels and stuff but they usually dress like everyone else. Girls wear jean skirts, jeans with rips in them, polos, printed tee-shirts, tunics, cute jackets big beaded jewelery and cute flats, converse, pumas or flip flops. Sometimes even the "popular/preppy" girls wear basketball shorts and a big shirt with flipflops because they feel comfortable. Boys just wear long shorts, baggy jeans, long shirts, big polos. Other boys wear girl jeans, band tees, vans, pumas and converse. It's just a big melting pot of fashion and different styles. Just wear what makes you feel most comfortable, but is still your own twist to the style you're into right now. Over the year you might want to try other trends. Don't try to be someone you're not though, when your friends find out they may not like you. This girl I know was my friend but was really fake and she lost most of her friends throughout the year.

Usually the question is what shouldn't you wear. The school handbook or whatever it is called at that school.

In most places you could wear full sweats if you want, clothing with holes, or most any tshrit and pants or jeans.

Public schools typically don't care. If it a comfortable clothing that you wear at home around company, chances are it will work well in a public school.

You can wear anything you want to! (As long as it abides by the school's rules. ;) ) If you just want to be casual, go for jeans and a graphic tee, normally found at any store (i.e. Wal-Mart, JCPenny, Sears, Belks, Hechts). If you wanna go preppy, go for a cute jean skirt and a grapic tee, with either flip-flops or sneakers. If you are oober punk, go for etnies or vans and jeans, and a tee. It really is totally up to you!

And you don't HAVE to brand name stuff. It is expensive most times and only falls int eh in-crowd. Others might wear it, but if its not you, then don't wear it. Get stuff that YOU like and YOU feel comfy in.

Fashionable Clothes. Shop at Old Navy. Buy name brand clothes. Hit AJ Wright and TJ Maxx up they have name brand clothes for cheap. Get ideas from store ads. Check the school dress code.

just go to the mall, see what all the stores have, and buy stuff simular to that. do you have any friends that dont go to a private school? what do they wear?
