I've taken my car to various mechanics and they all fix it. It is not great but it works.... however, three weeks to a month later we are in the same situation whith no air conditioning. Every time I take it to the mechanic they want to charge me for some part I've never really heard of. At this point I think the tubes have a leek but I'm tired of paying for nothing!.. Hope someone can help!. I'll really appresiate it. Florida is incredibly hot in the summer!

it sounds like you have a small leak, they are hard to find. most common place is the seal on the compressor. it can be changed if it is bad but most places want to sell you a new compressor and not have to worry about a leak that may come back under warrantee. a/c repair is not something you can do following along in a book. find a GOOD mechanic.

U are probably right about the tubes, but it may be the compresser. I feel u are being taken advantage of because it's not that hard 2 fix or figure out what 2 fix. I work at a garage just up the road from me. Any mechanic that knows what they are doing should have already told u what was wrong. It can only be a leak or a bad compressor. I'm sure they know by now which 1 it is. Try 2 find another garage, maybe u will find somebody honest. I would fix it 4 u, but i'm a long way from florida. good luck

go to your library, chilton's auto manual or go to a local auto parts store ,napa ,auto zone , ask for a Haynes manual on a/c repair
