My son 12 3/4s, has made friends with the wine bar owner's son and now he wants to learn to play tennis. His dad says it's a middle class poofter's game and has bought him a reduced price World Cup style unauthorised FIFA match play football. Is this short sighted?

Yes. You should be proud your son is interested in a sport and encourage and support him to the fullest.

If the sport is not good enough for the father, he has issues. Its very disappointing to hear of a father being so limited and judge mental in his thinking.

Of course it is! A parent can never pressurise a child into something he's not. Let him play Tennis!

Just let him be himself and don't blow his mind by forcing him to be something he is not. Good luck to him and you as well.
