I do alot of woodworking, and most of the furniture I build uses very few nails. you will need glue, which if designed right will be stronger than nails anyway. The key is to use Mortise and Tenon joints, or lap joints when there is more surface area. No glue, then you have to make some seriously tight fitting joints, and use some really hard wood.

A computer desk? As in the a desk that holds a computer, computer screen, and various other computer-related hardware. Ya I would just buy one. They would be hard to make from scratch unless you are a carpenter. As you would need to put together pieces of wood with nails and screws. Buying a computer desk will get all those woods, nails, and screw but also instructions on how to assemble them.

Think outside the square and it can be easy:
Use anything stable enough the size you want for the desk top: can be ply; glass( thick); timber: Now under each side end use blocks or brick built up to the height you want. Erected next to a wall which is the back stop this can be quit solid. Have fun:

It is very easy. I make lots of wood products using no mechanical fasteners (other than other piecesof wood)

But I like doing things like that I made my own foot pedal lathe out of nothing but a few little trees. Sure it is slower than a new modern lathe but it was fun to make too

Di you mean no fasteners like nails such as screws or other metal fasteners? It could be tough. I was told some house in Pasadena, Ca were built without using nails or other metal fasteners. I would presume dowels and the likes were used. i would lean on the saying "necessity is the mother of invention" and will opt for using the inventions that were made because of the need. good luck

If you use mortise and tenon joints and dovetail joints with glue you CAN make a desk without nails. It's not easy but it is possible.

do you have glue? if you have glue and a saw or something you can cut divits into the wood so that the pieces fit together tightly...as if you were putting together a puzzle...and just put some wood glue on the edges of the wood before you stick them together...that might hold
