Bermuda needs lot's of sun, and moderate water. If you go through a period without rain for more than 3 weeks, it starts to die. You can't really over water it. But let the rain take care of it unless it starts to fall behind. Which I'm assuming might happen if you live in a place where Bernuda will actually grow. Bermuda needs to be weeded frequently, preferably manually. It's easy to kill with weed chemicals and easy to burn with fertilizer. One weed that really gets into Bermuda is Pseudo-grass, which can take it over. You have to pull this weed by hand.

How much work you do depends on how good you want your lawn to look. If you want it to look like a professional did it, you'll need to get some tips from a professional. If you just want it to be green, consistant, and weed free, you need to spend about 2 days a week in the yard, pulling weeds, watering, and cutting it. Don't cut it too close or you'll kill it. It gets it's nutrients from the blades as well as the roots.

If you have Bermuda grass, it will be beautiful in the summer, but for winter you need to sow some winter rye grass to have a pretty lawn all year 'round. Not that much trouble for the rye but as far a watering, you need to water it as you would any other depending on where you live--- water is good for any grass, turn your sprinklers on late evening or early morning and enjoy year 'round!!!!! It is nice having a green lawn a Christmas if you can't have snow!

The type of grass you have is a warm weather grass, and it goes dormant in cooler temperatures. It came from the savannas of Africa. It rarely needs to be cut and was used primarily in the Midwest. Most people consider it a weed. Don't worry about it. It will take care of itself. And if you want to get rid of it, the best way is just to asphalt over it.
