Think about it, do you think that it's actually true? I'm starting to think that it's not.
What do you think, and why?

No!!! That would be MONEY.

Money yields power, and power corrupts even the best intentions as it has with modern day ministers of God.
That may be the reason Jesus chastised Lazarus to give up all that he had and follow him (Jesus). And, "it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven."

Well.. believe it or not.. events sort of work like in a chain or successive matter.. jealousy is stated as a root of evil because it leads to a lot of "evil" things. For example, if a person develops a sense of jealousy towards someone like over their new and prestigious job or award they begin to feel those feelings of jealousy. From there a person moves to the next link in the chain which is usually expressed in an emotion like envy and a gradually-building hatred towards that person. Eventually that person's hatred for that individual (or group) leads to even more extreme and "evil" events and/or emotions. Each emotion that follows after jealousy tends to be more extreme and is what most people view as evil. One thing you have to understand is that generally when a person does evil, they believe that they are not doing anything wrong or even they believe they might be helping a situation. So evil is only defined by a person's point of view (very cliche I know). It may be that jealousy is one root of evil and the most common we see in America (sorry if you aren't American, just making an assumption). It's common here because let's face it, even though we live in the top 2% of wealth we are all competitive and never fully satisfied with our position in society. Really, the world is a competitive place in the end, so yes, jealousy is at least a root of things that people view as evil, it just might not be necessarily THE root of evil itself.

No, jealousy isn't the root of all evil.

Evil begins when one person harms another and doesn't ask forgiveness for the harm. Then the harmed person spreads the harm. It's like a cancer that can be cured if someone admits wrongdoing and asks the person he hurt for forgiveness.

A question for you: Why would someone not ask forgiveness when he hurts someone else? THAT is the root of all evil.

No, I think money causes the root of all evil. Jealously spawns hatred.

It's easier to get over being jealous of someone, but if someone tries to put their hands into your pocket, that's a different story. People kill for money more than any other reason.

Nope, I think FEAR is the basis of ALL negative energy! When there is fear, there is unrest & people get confused & tend to make poor choices & bad decisions. If people would just learn to trust their instincts & not go against their first thoughts, there would be no path for the so-called "evil" to enter into their lives! If your first thought says, "Don't do it" & you do it anyway, then you have gone against your natural instinct to protect YOU & placed yourself in a negative situation (against your own best judgement). Some call this self-sabotage! Jealously is just a fear of the unknown & a fear of abandonment.

Truly? The proverb is "Idleness is the root of all evil".

Personally, I do not believe in "evil" - I think it is a human, erroneous, concept.

Laziness is part of the root, too. Evil, as I see it, is profiting from someone else without giving anything in return.
