Never close your heart. You will close out the good things in life, not just the bad. Being sensitive is a gift and having an open heart is the sign of a very courageous person - think about it - it takes more courage to stay open than it does to hide behind walls.

Sensitive is better. Sensitive can be painful sometimes, but so can cold hearted. Cold hearted people have cold hearted friends. When things are going bad for you, you don't want cold hearted friends. I'm sensitive too and happy to stay that way. (-:

A cold heart is too easy: there's too little effort involved and it is largely being selfish. Allow yourself to be sensitive, but be true to yourself, as well. Though it's possible to be hurt, when you put your heart on the line, the real rewards are what make life so rich and worth living. For the only way to find the joy of a complete and honest relationship is to give in kind. Save the cold heart for the IRS.

Being sensitve is good...but too sensitive can be bad for you and the people around you. I am more cold hearted than sensitive...mainly because I've a reason to be. You don't just choose to change from sensitive to cold hearted suddenly...it is not in your nature. If it is not in your nature, you jsut can't change it, cause then you'd be looking dumb. Me, on the other hand...I'm already cold hearted...yes, I do care, but not for everything, not for everyone.

Ha ha... I'm both. Seriously.

Personally, having a cold heart is better because you cannot be taken advantage of. However, you will also not be called cute or adorable or similar words in that case. It makes it easier to push people away, and to stop relationships when you are uncomfortable. It is better to deal with rejections, and if someone ever tries to get close to you, it is easier to assess how hard the person is trying, and how much he/she cares for you. You think with your head, not your heart.

Being sensitive, you overly feel and think into things that were not put there intentionally, or you may read something that was never true.

I have a cold hearted cousin I've been dealing with. I am a sensitive person and last week I decided I was going to treat her the same way she treats everyone else, but you know what I just couldn't do it. I am not like that and I am happy to be warm hearted. I have decided I can't control the actions of others, but I can control myself and if I act towards her the way she does towards me, then what makes me any different than her. Maybe my kindness will help change her, with God's help I hope she changes her ways.

You can`t have a cold heart & be sensitive. YOU can be very aware of other peoples emotions and enjoy upsetting them, but believe me, what goes around comes around. Be sensitive to others emotions, Dont open yourself to strangers until you know them, it sounds as if you have built an internal wall against others by leaving yourself vulnerable at some time.

you can be both cold hearted and sensitive.

cold hearted basically means you are void of feelings to mercy, compassion and would not feel for the underdogs, etc.

Sensitive would mean you are able to pick up the meanings what others say even though they may say it indirectly. It also meant that you are easily hurt by the things others say.

You could be sensitive and yet be cold hearted.

its ok to have a balanced take on things. a cold heart brings nothing but loneliness and misery (ultimately). an overly sensitive approach also has its pitfalls. sometimes you need to not react to things when they happen. its good to think it over and then decide on the best course of action. some sensitive people first react, then they think rationally and feel (or are made to feel by others if they dont realize it by themselves) that they had acted foolishly.
sometimes its good to first mull things over in your mind, then act, then evaluate your actions and take further action if necessary. for e.g my husband misplaces his keys every day. his first reaction is to throw his hands up in despair and cry out, i've now lost my keys!! when he first did it, i empathized with him, but when i saw it was a trend towards yet another tantrum, i started rolling my eyes and treating him like the boy who cried wolf. be careful that you dont end up like this, just try to enjoy life and you'll see life will treat you kindly (having a kind, emotional, empathic and compassionate side is always good, but remember, always try to balance things out, so there's never an extreme of anything to swing your scales out of synch ;-)

Being sensitive is really good. You have to watch out for women taking advantage of you.
