Just spotting means you don't have enough flow for a pad or tampon. You just notice a little blood when you wipe after going to the bathroom, or a few light stains on your underwear. You are probably just having a slow start to your period. You have alot going on with college, and in all the excitement your period might be a little different from usual. If the spotting continues for a few days, then take a home pregnancy test to know for sure.

The difference between spotting and your period is one you will know of - with your period you have to change your pad/tampon frequently due to amount of blood loss, whereas spotting is just a little of blood hardly worth using a pad for!
Hun if it spotting please go to your GP!!!!

You should see a GYN doctor. Spotting could mean a lot of different things. But if you were a virgin then your cherry was busted.
