I know these can hurt afterwards, but that's normal.
You can try an ice pack on the injection site for 20 minutes on 1 hour off 20 minutes on. You can also try some tylenol or ibuprofen (follow the package directions).
The more you move your arm, the better (like someone else said).
It's normal for there to be pain and a little lump after a tetanus shot. If the pain persists more than a few days or the site of the injection gets very red and warm to the touch, then you need to call your doctor.

Next time, as soon as you get the shot, drop to the floor and do push ups until you hit muscle fatigue. This will help move that thick liquid through the muscles and cause it to be less sore.

Working the arm where you got the shot is actually the best thing for it. The injection tends to stay in one spot and cause soreness, but if you work it out and get it to migrate, it tends to make it feel better quicker.

It's fine to go running.
Even though it hurts, move it, and rub out the muscles over the site of the injection.
It will dissappate the medicine faster, and you won't wake up even sorer tomorrow.

Keep moving the arm to keep stiffness from setting in. The pain will go away.

Yes it is ok to run. You can put a heating pad or hot towel on it.
