There is only one meaninful standard of ethics that can properly be called universal. It is the long-term survival and advancement of the human species.

Think about it. If there exists a society which does NOT rate the long-term survival of the human species as their first priority, eventually there will arise a crisis where they choose something else INSTEAD of survival. And they will be destroyed.

It is BECAUSE so few societies rate survival of mankind important that we all worry about nuclear annihilation, global pollution, and any of a dozen other things that stand a chance of wiping the lot of us out. Nor will adjustment to that ethic be easy, because I suspect a lot of other cherished ideas and superstitions will have to be laid by the wayside to put long-term survival first.

But it is the ONLY winning strategy.

its now high time that we make one unified code for the entire human race. but not to help progress the so called globalization, but for the unified development of all the parts of the world.
yet, this unified ethics can't disregard individual cultural characteristics. the unified codes should be there just to make sure that, no human is exploiting another. if we can do that, i believe the entire world will be peace full, and mother earth will get back her breath again. and in the unified code of ethics, the first condition should be, a earth without No Mans Land.
but to make a unified code, first of all we must dis-assemble the world's largest dictatorial organization, called the United Nations. Unless we do that, the unified ethical codes will be of no use, as F****** UN will for sure hamper its progress.

If it were possible for a uniform code of ethics in which all people could live in peace with one another, I'd definitely want that to happen.

Unfortunate that is still a very far-off possibility and we all have to accept the reality that our current world we live in is diversified. So the only option, which is not really taken to heart by political and religious leaders, is to respect other peoples' ethical codes or standards and learn to live in peace with them.

Peace.

There's no question about it i prefer to live in a world situation governed by one code for all human race. That would be more
universal and acceptable by all races and not one's particular race or cultures. or specially religions. After all, we all are God's children. One ethical code is love your neighbor as thyself. To thine own self be true. is another to name a couple.

If one were to adopt a single code of ethics for all of humanity, it therefore follows that it will have to be imposed on at least one individual, which is contrary to any meaningful code of ethics, yes?

living by ethical codes, it gives us our uniqueness as part pof the human race. There is no definite in nature, and we as humans have used these labels to help understand the wonders of the reasons why we are here.

It'd be preferable to live by one code as one group, as opposed to living, and thus being confused by multiple codes!!!
