Evolution. I cannot believe that there was some sort of "divine" plan already laid out for me. Personally, I enjoy knowing that I am in control of my own life.

I think of this as a three-part question: (1) evolution or creation of the universe as a whole; (2) evolution or creation of life on earth in general; and (3) evolution or creation of the various species on earth, and human beings in particular.

For (2) and (3), evolution is clearly the right answer. The scientific evidence is overwhelming, including the "creation" of life in the ocean by natural processes. Adam & Eve is a myth.

As for (3), it's clear that the universe evolved to what we see today, from the Big Bang. What's less clear are the conditions that precipitated that event. The jury's still out on that one, but my instinct says the cosmologists will figure that one out too.

Evolution. The evidence seems to fit with slow and somewhat haphazard development rather than a grand plan. This shows up in things like allotropic plants, the extra bones in whales where back legs used to be, and both mitochondrial and cholorplastic DNA. Creation doesn't explain these things or the fossil record.

I've seen people who claimed to be able to refute evolution scientifically but I've never found any who actually did. Often they simply pick at one minor detail or incorrectly state a characteristic of evolution. I've seen no evidence to suggest that the Earth was simply created as it is today.

Evolution

Definitely creation. Science can explain everything on the earth. Scientists can carbon date dinosaur bones, decipher ancient hyroglyphics, etc., but how did the earth and all the stars and planets come to be? "The Big Bang"? Is that the best we can come up with? Come on!

Let me finish answering this question by asking another. If the earth and everything was created because of a giant explosion in space, then how did our solar system come to be stationary in relation to the rest of the universe? Don't objects in motion stay in motion unless interrupted by some other force? An explosion in space would have sent everything flying continuously in different directions. ...right?

Evolution.

Evolution, because it's a set of hypotheses that explain the patterns of life as we know it, and because it's happening, so it would be a little silly to deny it.
Anyway, I'd like to quote a good friend and fellow Answerer, Neuroprof, who took the time to write some short essays about the christian God and evolution:

Maybe it's neither
Maybe both
Maybe it's a one time only process which will never repeat so we will never know what it is
Maybe evolution's created

This question inevitably leads to Science or Religion?

Can't use science to falsify a religion and vice versa.

Do you believe in anything somebody publish without questioning them? It is like believing the Earth is flat.
