If every man in America just turned the tap on and off when shaving we could save atleast 3 gallons per person. Multiply that with say 40 million shavers. That is 120 million gallons of drinking water down the drain everyday. What do you guys think?

It's because they want to be able to rinse off their shaver once in a while when they're shaving. I agree that's it a bad habit. People do it do when they are brushing their teeth.
I don't know why men still use those shavers. I switched to an electric shaver last year and it really is much better -- a cleaner shave, no cutting self, less time in the bathroom too (and no water running.) I guess there is the environmental factor of the battery recharge, but I can shave everyday for around 3 days before I have to charge up again (it takes about 5 minutes to charge it up.)

I don't know where the 3 galllons per person came from....sound like a lot for a single shave.. but i do agree that there is no reason to keep the water running.

Maybe we would save more water if women would get they're *** out of the shower in 5 mins instead of 15 min.

That is true ! we waste, i have caught myself doing it , but just do it again....sorry maam...i think it comes from the stone age you know..we used to shave with a sharp stone, and the running water was free those times...we will try and save...

I know what you mean. My fiance does that too. Hes a big water waster. Same thing when he brushes his teeth. And before he takes a shower he turns it on and then goes to the bathroom(#2) and we know how long that takes. Lord help us all!!!!
