Ok, my 19 month old daughter has a pair of cheap earrings in and one of the backs is sooo tight that I can't get it off the earring. I can turn it, but it doesn't even budge when you pull on it. I've tried putting drops of baby oil on it and twisting it hoping that would loosen it, but no such luck. Has anyone had this problem? Any ideas?

I'm sorry...does that say anywhere that her earring grew into her ear? Or does it say that THE BACK IS STUCK ON THE EARRING. Thats right dimwit.

I would say cut it off if you can, or go to a jeweler and have it done. In the future you should only use 14-18K solid gold earrings, preferrably with screwbacks. The metal in this earring probably corroded or rusted and that is why you can't get it off. Gold will not corrode. If the piercing is not healed up, the corroded metal or rust can enter your body through the unhealed piercing. That is why I would stick with solid gold earrings, only, and not gold plated ones. Good luck to you and your daughter.

Try putting ice on your daughter's earlobe to see if the swelling will go down. I'm not saying that it is swollen, but if you've been trying to get the earring out for a while, it may be irritated a little. Use more baby oil, or, better yet, take your daughter to a pediatrician so that they can get it off. You wouldn't want to hurt her ear, after all.

Im 12 and i had that problem with my 2nd piercing i know wats its like. I wouldnt do it on your daughter thats= is 19 months old it could hurt her. If you have this problem go to walmart and get it checked. I was strong enough to do it by my self but it hurt so dont let her deal with the pain. And if its stuck deep in then get it checked by a doctor they can help probably. Or you can try to put more baby ol on and twist it alot. once its really easy to twist then slowly start trying to pull it off while twinting it.

Is it the earring that was used to pierce the ear? You may need to just keep spinning it until it comes loose. Most piercing rings are screw-ons. Other than that, all I can think of is to have someone help you hold the earring slightly away from her ear, and cut the post with wire clippers. But I would be very careful. In fact, I would probably take her to the doctor's office to have it done. Good luck. :(

I have had that happen and I have super sensitive ears . I use a warm wash cloth and hold it to my ears. This helped me. I f all else fails call a dermatologist office and ask for advice, it is free and it could help your problem

TRY GRIPPING THE HOOK WITH A WARM RAG OR TWEEZERS. TRY TURNING IT AND PULLING AT THE SAME TIME MAYBE YOU COULD TRY GETTING HER REALLY STILL AND SEE IF YOU COULD GET SOMETIHING IN BETWEEN THE HOOK AND THE BACK OF HER EAR AND PUSHING THE HOOK THIS IS THE ONLY THING THAT I COULD THINK OF I REALLY HOPE IT COMES OFF. AND I HOPE IT ISN'T HURTING HER ALOT.
