There is a Six Flags theme park in LA. I don't know where exactly but when I passed by LA last month I saw it :)
You can find Six Flags theme parks here: http://www.sixflags.com/parks/magicmountain/index.asp

I live in LA, and think you should try something that isn't so touristy, something that locals like to do. My favorite is the Farmers' Market which is in mid-LA, next to the Grove. It's on Fairfax and 3rd Street.
It's an informal place with lots of mom and pop food and trinket stalls. Great food like middle eastern, chinese, mexican, etc. And a great place for people watching.
When you want to go upscale, walk next door to The Grove.

Hollywood [Walk of Stars and tons of movie theaters showing everything you'd want to see--a bit pricey, though]
West Hollywood [TONS of restaurants, most not badly priced--if you like inexpensive and delicious steaks, there's an Argentinian place]
Jeopardy! Studios
Paramount studious [a bit expensive to get inside]
Universal Studios
Legoland

LA is Louisiana. L.A. is Los Angeles. You might get more answers using the proper acronymn. But I know Louisiana, not Los Angeles, so I'm not able to answer your question.
