First my sympathies on your misfortune. Lite-On makes a criminally defective product.

Secondly, I assume this is a stand alone recorder and is not a combo unit. Operating on this assumption all you need to do is hook up your VCR to the DVD recorder, set the input on the DVD recorder to whichever jacks you have used to connect the VCR. Then it's just a matter of playing the video on the VCR and pressing record on the lite-on.

Pretty easy. Get a Scart to Phono lead.

Put SCART lead into VHS player - and PHONO into front of Liteon. Set source, hit play on VHS & record on Liteon.

This should by-passes any data encryption. If not, a patch to remove the Macromedia detection is available online...

depending on the recorder...if it's stand alone dvd recorder ,then use as copy from vhs to vhs by using phono jack (some call it rca jck).if it's dvd burner .. then u need a capture card to do the job.

scart lead from dvd in to video should come up on an av channel
