I have to attend my local shelter's Tailgate party next month and I am stumped on what to wear and what to say! This is a very fancy event. I have to wear a nice pair of pants and a nice shirt, no dresses or skirts. I also need to talk to the guests, take their coats, and give them their seating numbers! WHAT DO I DO?!?!?!?!

Does the shelter have official colors?...If not...Wear dark pants that match your shoes..They should not be tight....Find a pretty color shirt with matching earrings...DO NOT wear a belt, handor wrist jewelry because it might catch onto the coats!!!...When you greet people...Look them in their eyes & say Good evening or afternoon. May I take your coat for you?...Your number is....Enjoy your evening...Thank you for attending ...name of Shelter.........Party.....Have fun & make sure your nails are polished as well......Keep a small mirror available so you can check your nose & teeth throughtout the evening.....Oh yeah.....NO GUM...mints will work....

You could wear black slacks with a lace shirt. As for talking to the guests, just smile at each one and say something like, "How are you this evening?" They will most likely just say, "Fine." Then just tell them their seat number and that will be it. Most people are friendly, especially at something like this, so just relax and have a good time.

well first thing you need to do is relax

then get a nice pair of black slacks and a white button down shirt

long or short sleeves it your choice just be sure you are comfortable

when you speak to people look them in the eye and smile

speak to them like they are very important to you
then move on to the next
you will do great have fun with it

Wear something that you feel comfortable in and look good in. A nice pair of khaki capri's or a pair of slimming black pants. Talk about things you know about, don't try to act fake or put on airs to people.

So basically you are going to be the hat check girl. Where black dress pants and a tailored white blouse. Keep your jewelry at a minimum since you are one of the help and should not be showing up any of the big wigs. Don't forget to *Smile*

just go to the mall and tell someone what kind of outfit you need, they will help you pick it out. (of course that means you have to buy a new outfit and if thats a problem then go to a thrift store, they always have nice things too!)
