Patrick Roy, when it comes down to it he is the greatest. I remember watching him when I first started watching Hockey back when he had just started as well, he was amazing to watch!

Montreal Canadiens' and Colorado Avalanche's ST. Patrick Roy. Winningest goalie in history and most games played in playoffs. He's had that drive and determination and talent that no one had. He's got the "eyes" to see the puck too.

i say he is the best goalie win-wise. he was impressive to watch especially when he faced detroit in the playoffs. he no doubt is the best of his era. he passed up the late great terry sawchuck in the win catergory. as far as shutout-wise i think terry sawchuck still has the most. fuhr and brodeur are also two more examples of great goalies. there are too many good up and coming goalies who may challenge any of these current records set.

The obvious choice is Patrick Roy.. but don;t discount Terry Sawchuk, for whom many of the records Roy broke belonged to..

Comparing Roy to Sawchuk is a bit like comparing Ruth and Aaron, different era, different number of teams, and different styles, similar results..

And for the record, my favorite goalie of all time.. is my son.
