I think my favorite was when Nolan Ryan accidently hit Robin Ventura with a pitch and Ventura chraged him. Then Ryan put him in a head lock and I think he punched him? Either way, I thought it was quite entertaining!

No doubt that the best baseball fight was in 2004, Red Sox and Yankees, Don Zimmer running out to punch Pedro, and Pedro takes his chubby cheeks and threw him to the ground. And it only got better as Zimmer was reduced to tears after the game saying how Pedro needs to get some respect for his elders when Zimmer charged at him in the first place. Oh those were the days.

The Nolan Ryan fight and the Kyle Farnsworth (then on the cubs) kicking the crap out of Paul Wilson (Reds) after beaning him a couple years ago stands out.

My favorite memory wasn't really a fight, but the best "should have been a fight" was in 1988 , when Eric Show beaned Andre Dawson in the head.

Dawson was down for about 2 minutes, but when he got up, he started running after Show, and Show started running away. Dawson chased him up the right field line and into center field before teammates finally grabbed him.

Good stuff!

You can't really classify Pedro throwing Zimmer to the ground as a fight......

Any Yankees/Red Sox brawl (especially those in 2004 & 2005) are gonna be at the top of the list, and Nolan giving Ventura a series of noogies is a classic but as for my all-time favorites, it would have to be the ones that didn't include both teams. Like...
The Kansas City Royals fighting to hold back teammate George Brett from ripping the umpire's head off after the "Pine Tar" homerun at Yankee Stadium.
or...
Billy Martin vs Reggie Jackson in the dugout of Fenway Park in 1978 that led to Martins firing.
or how about.....
Royals Manager Hal McCray vs his own office during a post-game press conference in 2001 (?)

The time the Reds played the Cubs in 2003. Reds pitcher Paul Wilson was trying to put down the sacrifice bunt, and the pitch ran up and in and hit Wilson, so Wilson drops the bat and starts walking towards Kyle Farnsworth (then Cubs reliever) and Farnsworth charged Wilson, and tackled him to the ground, and got a few good shots in before he got pulled off. A close second was the Alex Rodriguez-Jason Varitek fight.

You are so right, You dont charge the mound when it is Nolan Ryan out there unless you are lookin to get your butt kicked The Old man knows how to give a headlock. The weakest cheapshot fight was when greeeze haired pedro the tough guy took down the 70 year old zimmer I guess in Peeedro s country elderly abuse is acceptable

I agree completely with the Ryan/Ventura fight being the best. I still laugh thinking about Ventura stuck in that headlock and Ryan pummeling his noggin repeatedly!!!!! :)

When the Braves and the Cubs fought in 1998 and Chipper and Jeff Blauser(He was traded to the Cubs.) were duking it out in the middle of the fight. I think Ryan Klesko charged the mound.

Definitely Varitek and A-Rod in 2004...no doubt about it...not only because of the actual fight (eat glove A-Rod) but because of the before and after:

Before: Just before A-Rod gets pissed he yells at Arroyo and Tek for plunking him...Tek responds "We don't throw at .260 hitters." Classic...

After: Sox take Yanks in the ALCS and win the Series...
