Do it while you're in high school! I'm 33 and got braces on two years ago, and the older you are when you get them, the more painful it is! My Orthodontist gave me all this information on adults that have braces, and it says that because your bones and face are completely formed, it's harder and more painful when your teeth start to move around and adjust. I'm not kidding you, when I first got them on, I was in so much pain for the first two weeks, that they had to put me on really strong painkillers. I have given birth, had operations, broken arm, you name it, and I normally have a pretty high tolerance to pain, but I was hurting so bad!
And every-time I go in so they can adjust them and change my wire & bands, I can't eat anything but soup for at least two or three days. (I guess that's one good thing! Helps keep my weight down to where I want it! Lol) And every adult I have spoken with that had braces as adults have all said the same!
Really, do yourself a favor and don't wait! I still have to keep these on for another two years, so I'm stuck with this pain until then.

i think you should get the braces thing over with now. Once you get to college and even as an adult, it will just be awkward. High schoolers with braces isn't that big of a deal. If you think it will be tough now, how do you think itll be when you get older? Don't put it off til later..

I think you should just get it over with. I am 31 and I have braces and I hate it!!! Plus think of it this way...you will have perfect teeth that much sooner. I waited so long because my parents wouldn't get it done and I didn't have the money that now some of my teeth are chipped and my gums receeded from being stretched out too far. It isn't pretty...I will have to have even more work done now to get the smile I want. Be grateful you have the option to get it done! You will look back and realize it really wasn't that big of a deal....

Get them over with. Because later on, your teeth will change and then you'll REALLY need them. I didn't need braces, but after my senior year, my wisdom teeth and other teeth started shifting. You may want to fix the problem before it gets worse. And in COLLEGE??? You really considered having braces through college?? I'd rather see a child in braces than a College Sophomore wearing them....
Hope that helps out

I was a high school-er with braces, except I had mine my freshman year, and sophomore year. But I don't think high school-ers with braces is a turn off to anyone, I think you should get braces now, because in your college years your braces could become annoying, and I don't think you want to deal with braces when you're an adult.

So..you had braces before but you're an idiot so you didn't wear your retainer or what? Nice! High-schoolers with braces is fine, lots of them have braces, so it's pretty common. I wouldn't suggest waiting though.

I've been out of school for a loooong time now but I can tell you your life will not really start until your out of H.S. So do it now and start your college life fresh. And if anyone in your school gets on you for it they're pretty shallow and years from now will probably end up lonely and have nothing to do but remember the good old days in H.S. While everyone else has moved on with their lives.
