Do people in other countries (not U.S.) work 40 hr work weeks?

The same as here.. 8hrs a day, 5 days a week?
And do they have Sat and Sun off as well?

Nepal the national day of rest is Saturday and Sunday is just like Monday.

In Oz, we work 38-40 hour weeks depending upon the industry.

Tell you what for all Aussies, go work for a large company. I work for a large Insurer and I get 13% super, all holidays, sickies, pel, family sickies, counselling services, the chance to buy extra holidays (they take a small sum from you wage each week to give you upto 6-8 weeks holidays in the year) etc. Just like working for a Govt department. Once you work for this company you'll never want to work anywhere else.

Indian companies typically have a 47 1/2 hour work week with a day and a half off per week. The specific day off depends on where you live in the country.

In Australia it depends on what you do for a job. I used to do about 50 hrs a wk. I was doing 15hr shifts, a few days a wk when i used to clean suncorp stadium. (its where we go to watch football(kinda like the us gridiron) ). Some people only need to work 10 hrs per shift. It just depends.

Australia,NSW.. yes.... though lots of people are finding the need to work 2 jobs, or try and get overtime.
i reckon there are alot of rich people, laughing their heads off at this situation.
Sat & Sun are becoming a thing of the past.... split shifts etc

4 weeks holidays, many places have 1 RDO a month, Bosses(slave masters) still suck. superannuation

here in ireland we work 36 and get 4 weeks holidays per year from the 1st year
