It's a pretty fast song, but it has breaks every few seconds or so, so it goes (dundun-nun-nun-nah dun-nun-nun-nun-nun-nun-nun-nah dun-nun-nun-nun-nun-nun-nun-nah dun-dun-dun-dun DUN!) and then repeats, sort of building up. I don't know the name, composer, or where I heard it, but when I think of it, I imagine a really sped-up video of a barn being built. Which probably isn't any help, but it's that sort of tempo and style (farmish, amish-ish, etc.)

The instruments are either a fiddle, or a violin, maybe a guitar... eh, not sure.

I know my details aren't very useful, but it's all I can think of and the identity of this song has been bothering me for a long time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Also, the song has no words... just instruments. Forgot to mention that.

It's definitely not dueling banjos, but it might be from a movie. I feel like it's not a new song.

You're about level 5, which is advanced-intermediate. I'd say you should learn how to play harmonics - there's not much to it, and you can probably find a video on how to do it on youtube. In the youth symphony I played in last year, the lower half of the second violins (the kids who sat near the back) were at about your level. And if you've been playing for seven years, your progress is probably average. I'm just finishing up level 7, and I've been playing for 7-8 years, but I'm a very fast learner when it comes to music. ;) It's good that you can play the pieces without mistakes. I haven't heard you play, but you always need to watch your intonation (playing the notes exactly in tone). This is very important because if you don't have good intonation you're about level 3.

Not sure, but it definitely isn't The Devil Went Down to Georgia. That's a Charlie Daniels Band song and has words. Oh, for future reference--a violin and a fiddle are the same thing. They are just played differently.

Actaully, the first answer was what I was going to suggest. Were there any words along with the music? I mean, was anyone singing? Have an awesome day :) Hope you find your song, sorry if I wasn't any help

I believe it is "But Anyway" by Blues Traveler. You might want to check out the movie "Kingpin."
