Israel is winning for now, and soon Syria or maybe even Iran will step in to help Hezbollah and Lebanon..
And the second they do the US will step in and then well yeah...2 of the Top 3 countries in the World will be fighting sand monkeys..

My point being...Hezzbollah is getting there @ss kicked and will keep getting there @ss kicked no matter what

So far its a draw. Israel doesn't know whether to go ahead full force or hold back to prevent more civilian casualties, and Hezbollah is standing its ground although that ground is increasingly shaky and they only have it because they are letting civilians take the hits for them.

Unfortunately, in a draw Hezbollah would be considered the winner. If you thought they shot off a lot of rockets, wait til they start shooting off their collective mouths claiming victory.

I see General Dan Halutz, commander of the IDF and former fighter jock, has had to give up his position and go to a hospital due to stomach problems. Now General Kaplinsky, former commander of the Golani Brigade is in command of the IDF, and loe and behold, the emphasis on low casualties and the use of the air force to bomb Hezbollah into submission is transmuting itself into a more conventional combined arms attack on southern Lebanon. Halutz may not have lost the war, but he sure left Kaplinsky with a tough job. Hezbollah is ahead on points but it is only the 9th round of a 12 round fight. Israel is bleeding slightly from the cut above the eye, caused by the 28 (not 58 as earlier claimed) civilians killed by a laser guided bomb in Qana. Hezbollah, tho, is punched out, having taken dozens of heavy body blows and is throwing wild punches to keep Israel off of them, i.e. 100 or so inaccurate but occasionally deadly Katushyas daily. Hezbollah knows that if they can hang on til the bell rings the end of the 12th round, they can win on Public Relations points, and Israel knows it, so they are stepping up their attacks, landing body blow after body blow, but they know they may have to get a knock out to win... Nasrallah, dead, would be a knock out. Hezbollah replaced in southern Lebanon by NATO/EU forces and then by the Lebanese Army would be an Israeli win. I think Israel is fighting for a draw, which is a good way to lose.

I don't see Hezbollah troops wondering the streets of Israel but I do see Israel troops wondering the streets of Beirut.

Hezbollah is a terrorist organization so I hope Israel finishes them off no matter the cost.

as an israeli, i must agree with answers saying nobody's winning.
but if we step back and try and try to put into win/lose terms,
israel is on the way to victory. the moment hizbulla will launch less rockets, either because escaping israeli forces, either because israel demolished all their rockets/launchers or because they have ran out of them, in that moment israel would declare victory and go for a cease fire.

there is nothing hizbulla can do to declare victory.. only if they can force israel to stop by UN resolutions. and that wont happen.
if syria and iran get involved, israel might lose the battle but hizbulla would not get credit. more like a technical win.

Israel seems to be inflicting more actual damage...so you might say they are winning...but they are losing the PR battle since they look like murderous thugs now with all the civilians that are getting killed.
