I think the mold has been there at least 2 years. I just moved in. The mold looks like is inside the silicone glue. Could remove the silicone and put a new one? I have tried bleach, vinager, I do not have a steam machine.

It needs to be removed, treat the area afterward with bleach, rinse with water after 15 minutes, wipe down, let dry one day and reseal with a silicone / latex caulk...works like a charm.

easy one... get a razor knife and a pair of needle nose pliers. pull that old stuff right out of there and use the razor knife for the tough areas. purchase some tri sodium phosphate follow the directions on the box. use the tsp as a cleaning agent in the area where you cleaned out the old sealant. the new sealant will not adhere to the residue of the old soap scum. after you have the area cleaned and dried thoroughly apply LATEX tub and tile caulk...silicone is very hard to work with and the latex is water clean up. with water at hand in a bucket use your finger and a damp, clean white terry cloth rag to create a professional looking bead of caulk. you will get the hang of it..very easy. with the shower door open let this dry for a time period recommended by the caulk manufacturer before using the shower. then after each use of the shower wipe down the doors with the towel you just dried yourself with (only takes a few seconds) then ALWAYS leave the door open when not in use....good luck!

I use a product by "Tilex" called "mildew root" that works great for shower mold, but if it is deep, as you thought, it might be best to remove the old silicone and buy a tube and re-do it.
