Which choice would be the better fate
To still have your mind but unable to use your body due to paralysis?

or

To lose your mind but your body still works (alzheimers)?

If you had to end up one way or another, which one would be the better choice (you have to end up one way the other)?
Why would you feel that would be the better choice?

I think it would be better to keep your mental abilities, because I write and compose, and if I hired someone to play what I wanted to sing on the piano or something I could keep composing. But if the mental abilities were gone, I would only enjoy music but not be able to create it.

I would much rather still have my mind but be unable to use my body due to paralysis. My grandmother had Alzheimer's and I can't imagine living like that. One day she'd know who I was and we'd have a somewhat normal conservation but the next day she wouldn't know who I was. I would want to have my memories, know who my family and friends are and still be able to socialize.

Paralysis over here for me. I seen the effects of both and would never wish alzheimers on anybody.....

I would much rather be paralyzed, and still have my mind. Everthing that I am in in there...

Alzheimer's is a horrible fate, not only for those affected, but for everyone around them.

I'd prefer to loose my mind to such an extant that i didn't understand that I'd lost my mind but still be able to wander around! That way I could still do random things but wouldn't understand/feel the loss!

i'd much rather lose my body than my mind because it is almost as if you don't know that you are alive without it. Being paralized may be embarrassing physically, but i would think it would be worse to act foolish and would be sad for your family to have to deal with.
