Where in Las Vegas? What do you require of a hotel?

The off-strip places like Terrible's and the downtown places like Fitzgeralds generally have the best prices.

Stratosphere and Circus Circus have great prices, but are at the very ends of the strip and not in the best areas.

Imperial Palace has good prices and a great location, but has a claustrophic casino and junky rooms. I never feel safe even walking by there.

Excalibur is usually mid-priced as are the Flamingo, Bally's, and Tropicana. All are on the strip. Aladdin greatly varies, but is frequently home to great rates with very nice rooms.

Treasure Island, Mirage, & Luxor can also have great rates, but they can also be somewhat expensive. It all depends on when you are looking.

The most expensive are going to be Venetian, Bellagio, Caesar's, and Wynn. You will not frequently find rooms much under $175 weeknights and $230 weekends.

Probably Orleans. Stayed there in January. The rooms are large and spacious; comfortable not flash.

Find a great rate at expedia.com and call the Orleans. They will beat it by 5%. We ended up paying $32 per night midweek.

The spa is mediocre but free to residents.

Big downside is that is off the strip so you need a car or cab fares will mount up. The money we saved ended up paying for a rental car so we got to visit Houver Dam etc.

Some hotels will really drop their rates at last minute. In January many 4-star hotels were below $100 midweek. Luxor was $59 last minute.

Imperial Palace... it's right ON the strip!

any hotel on Fremont Street has cheap nightly rates too...I stayed at the Golden Gate one year... you can always rent a car and drive to the strip.

Parking is free at any hotel garage on the strip. Plus having a car gives you the freedom to drive around to the nearby attractions like Lake Mead, the Hoover Dam, or if you want to drive further, the Grand Canyon.

I would say the Orleans Hotel. It is a very new hotel (recently rebuilt), but the prices are cheap since it is a few miles off the strip. Rooms are as good as MGM Grand. Buffet is also fantastic (BBQ themed) and one of the cheapest around.

Probably Alladen. Not because it's the coolest, but because it's cheap(er) and right in the middle of the strip. So, even if you don't want to hang out there, you are equidistant from any other casino you'd like to visit.

Not to mention they have an amazing mall there, and cheap(er) tables to play at, if gambling is your thing.

It really depends on when you want to go! During events all hotels are expensive period! Hotles that are further away from the strip and downtown are normally your cheapest bet!

The Imperial Palace

It is very convenient to other properties and is relatively inexpensive for being in the center of the strip.
