Do you think there is such a thing as having too much of a good thing?

I don't think I could agree that there is a limit to a good thing and I see the phrase as one which is expressed only in hindsight... "He lead the race for 98 laps and then hit the wall. Oops. Too much of a good thing." or "They were so in love that they lasted fifty years together in perfect harmony, but then... Oh well. Too much of a good thing."

Somehow I just don't anticipate Bill Gates giving away all of his Microsoft earnings in order to avoid the trappings of, "Too much of a good thing." Nor do I expect that the US will suddenly stop funding her armed forces ... "We no longer wish to remain a Super Power nation because we don't want to risk having too much of a good thing.... Here ya go, Uganda, have a few thousand nukes, a fleet of subs, carriers and whatever - Oh, and here's an ultra-modern air force and an army just for good measure."

So.. that's it. I'm done... My answer is no.

sure do. Sometimes it is a shame but people take advantage of a persons love and kindness. Eventually they will learn what they did. And I know it will be too late. But at least the next time a good thing comes along they won't treat them like that again. life lesson taught.
